Martin Building Company (MBCO) is a family owned and operated Commercial and Residential Construction Company.  MBCO also provides pre-construction services working alongside our clients and their team of architectural, engineering and design professionals to provide value-engineering and budget-driven suggestions throughout the process.  This collaboration helps to identify issues and inefficiencies before construction begins.  MBCO utilizes its’ seasoned and vetted subcontractor base providing value to our clients’ budget and delivering high-quality work on every project.

Hayes Martin began his professional career in 1994, as president of an architectural design firm and co-founder of a luxury custom home building company.  His more than 25 years of experience in the real estate and development industry has provided him the opportunity to become proficient and specialized in many aspects of business, from general operations to project and construction management, supervision, operations, contract management and negotiations.  Since then, Hayes has designed more than 50 luxury custom homes for clients and investors, including some strategic commercial development projects.  These projects ranged from client-owned build-to-suits, complete remodels and partial renovations, to sole-investor and joint-venture speculative projects. 

 

In 2004, Hayes co-founded a high-end luxury design/build company.  The success of their design and development company came from focusing on high-end luxury custom homes/estates from hillside properties to flat estate lots (as large as 40-acres) targeting the high-end user, primarily in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, Arizona. 

Over the years, Hayes has had the opportunity to successfully take projects from land purchase, through entitlements, full-design and performance analysis, into construction and operations.  Over the years the commercial projects include office and retail tenant improvements, design and build office complexes and internalized self-storage facilities, all of which are located in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. 

 

A large part of Mr. Martin’s success can be attributed to his expertise in recognizing and developing high-level designs and project planning guidance from beginning to end. His hands-on approach allows for the ability to execute quickly and efficiently in a multitude of tasks, acting as a full-service construction project manager and superintendent, while supporting all aspects of a project or development. 

 

Since 1994, Hayes has remained active in the real estate and construction industry, providing consultation and expertise to various companies.  He continues to play a key role in planning, developing and acquiring development opportunities.

Cody Martin is highly experienced in the real estate industry with an impressive track record of more than 25 years in various aspects of strategic and operational planning; business development; project management; capital raises; debt financing; commercial and residential real estate acquisition/disposition, development, design and construction; accounting systems; and financial management.

 

In 1994, Mr. Martin co-founded a design and construction company with projects in the Southwestern United States and Mexico. He oversaw the start-up and development of this company that more than tripled in size.

 

In 2001, Mr. Martin joined a high-end luxury home building firm in Scottsdale, Arizona.  He provided operational and financial services. He became a member of the executive management team and managed operational and procedural systems, negotiated vendor and customer contract documents, managed vendor and material supplier relationships, provided value engineering, and prepared and managed project budgets.

In 2004, Mr. Martin co-founded a high end luxury home design/build company that specialized in homes ranging from 5,000 to 30,000 square feet.  He successfully managed the development, implementation and supervision of accounting/reporting and operational/procedural systems; negotiated vendor and customer contract documents; managed all vendor and material supplier relationships, risk management, value engineering and project budgets.

 

Mr. Martin has served as owner, partner and member for a variety of partnerships and joint ventures in commercial and residential real estate.  He established and managed critical partnerships and consultant relationships essential to increasing land and project values.   He sourced, evaluated and negotiated land purchases; implemented strategic development plans; retained and managed outside planning teams; managed entitlements; and secured funding (equity and debt facility structures) for land acquisition, project start-up and development. He was also in charge of business operations and served as a political and governmental liaison.

 

Since 1994, Cody has remained active in the real estate and construction industry, providing consultation and expertise to various companies.  He continues to play a key role in planning, developing and acquiring development opportunities.
